Children are able to select a packed lunch instead of their usual school dinner. To do so, please complete the form below and return to the kitchen or school office by 10am on the Wednesday of the week before it is required. Thank you.
Zero Tolerance on Dinner Money Arrears
Please note we operate a zero tolerance on meal arrears as some quite substantial overspends have built up on some of the children’s accounts in previous years.
On the first day that children choose a lunch and have no credit on their account, our kitchen team will let them have their meal, thus leaving an arrears of £2.20. The parent/carer will get a letter from the cook informing them of the debt so they are aware and can rectify the situation straight away. They should also get an email from the cook warning of a low balance. If the arrears are not cleared, and if the children do not bring in a packed lunch from home, the kitchen team will give them an emergency meal (a cheese sandwich and a piece of fruit) at lunchtime if they come for a school meal. This will be chargeable.
In the past, parents/carers have also been rung by the office if their child’s account is in debt and the child has ordered a dinner that day. In the future, this will not happen if your child’s account is habitually in debt (3 times in a half term). In that case, your child will automatically get an emergency meal (cheese sandwich and fruit). You will get a letter informing you of this.
Thank you for your support and cooperation with this matter.
General Reminders and Updates
Royal Wedding Picnic
As you will be aware, HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are due to get married on Saturday 19th May 2018. To coincide with the royal wedding we are having a picnic lunch on Thursday 17th May 2018. This will also be after the last Y6 SATs paper!
If your child would like to take part they need to book a school lunch on the day. If they are in years 3-6, please pay £2.20 dinner money into their account before the event. On the day all children need to bring a small towel with them to sit on as we plan to eat the picnic outside in the school grounds … but if it is raining, we will eat in the halls! The menu will be:
* a choice of sandwich (egg mayo, cheese or ham) on white or brown bread –
can be chosen from the selection on the day
* a small sausage roll (or cheese and onion roll for vegetarians)
* a cocktail sausage (or vegi sausage for vegetarians)
* a slice of cheese and tomato pizza
* a cup cake
* a bottle of water
All served in an individual sandwich bag with a “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Crown” that can be worn during the lunch and brought home afterwards.
We really hope your children will take part in this special themed lunch.
