End of year letter from Mrs Thomas - July 2025
As we come to the end of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for the continued support you all give to our children, whether as parents, staff or governors.
This year has been filled with personal growth, learning, and memorable moments with Christmas events, sports days, careers week, and stay and play sessions to name just a few of the many wider opportunities they have been offered by our wonderful and committed team.
Our children have shown remarkable resilience, curiosity, and kindness. This was so evident in each and every end of year report written by their staff: they clearly felt so very proud of their children's achievements big and small, which are something to be celebrated and will be built upon as they move into their next academic year in September.
Our children have represented Dothill beautifully each and every time they go on trips and visits, and when visited in school too, always remembering our school values of being Ready, Respectful and Safe. I have loved every opportunity to show visitors to the school around watching them hard at work.
It has been a joy and privilege to watch all of our pupils flourish both academically and personally, through the knowledgeable guidance of all our school staff; and I would also like to thank our fantastic PTA and governing body whose strategic oversight and thoughtful contributions ensure we continue to thrive as a school.
We say a fond farewell to our year 6 children who have been wonderful role models, treated us to a wonderful performance, showed their resilience and hard work in their SATs and pushed themselves to the limit at Arthog. We wish them all the very best for what I know will be bright futures ahead in whatever they choose to do.
To our parents and carers: your partnership, trust and support are vital. Whether it’s helping with homework, attending school events, or simply encouraging your child each day, your involvement makes a real difference.
As we look ahead to the new academic year at Dothill, we do so with excitement. I’m confident that together, we will continue to nurture this special community where every child can succeed and grow.
Finally, I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for making me feel so very welcome in my first year here at Dothill and I wish you all a restful, joyful summer break spending precious time with those you love the most.
All my very best,
Mrs J Thomas - Head Teacher
