Themed Lunch

Why School Dinners on Census Day Matter

On Thursday 2nd October Donna and her lovely kitchen team will be making a special lunch of Hot Dogs and Pastries.

Did you know that your child having a school dinner on Census Day can help our school receive more funding?

Each term, the government collects data on how many pupils take up school meals, especially Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) for children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2. This information is used to determine how much funding our school receives to support learning, resources, and enrichment activities.

So, if your child is eligible for a free school meal, having one on Census Day helps us secure the funding we need to continue offering high-quality education and support for all pupils.

Even if your child usually brings a packed lunch, we’d love for them to enjoy a school meal on Census Day—it really does make a difference!
