Jenny Naujeer - Chair of Governors
I am currently the Chair of Governors at Dothill and have held the post since 2023. I have served as a Parent Governor since autumn 2020. With two daughters at the school, I work in a leading Multi Academy Trust, currently as Director of Humanities. I have 18 years' experience of teaching and have worked in various middle and senior positions. I have a keen interest in the quality of Teaching and Learning, ensuring that students enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum with a range of extra-curricular opportunities, and ensuring the wellbeing of both students and staff across Dothill.
Kerry Weston - Vice Chair of Governors
I’m proud to be the Vice Chair of Governors at Dothill school. I take a lead role in Safeguarding and Health & Safety, which are areas I care deeply about. I’ve worked in the NHS for over 18 years, so supporting the wellbeing and safety of others has been at the heart of my career. Being a governor gives me the chance to help make sure all children, no matter their background, feel safe, supported and able to thrive. I believe every child deserves the best start in life, and I’m passionate about helping the school create a place where that can happen.
Chris Weston - Local Authority Governor
I’m a relatively new face on the Dothill Governing board, having joined in December 2024. I have joined the board as a Local Authority Governor overseeing the portfolio for Finance. By day, I work in the NHS and have extensive experience of handling complex information and asking the right questions – skills that translate well into Governance. I will aim to bring clarity and a fresh perspective to the table.I became a Governor because I care deeply about education and want to play an active role in helping our school thrive. I believe that every child deserves a positive, supportive learning environment and it’s a privilege to be part of a team shaping the school experience for our children.
Chris Hodson - Parent Governor
I’m happy and proud to serve as a Parent Governor at Dothill Primary School, where my son currently attends. I joined the governing board to support the school community and contribute to a positive environment where every child can feel safe, valued, and supported. I work as a Product Manager at the Ministry of Justice, where I lead the development of digital services to meet the needs of diverse users. My professional experience has given me strong skills in problem-solving, collaboration, and delivering improvements based on feedback - skills I bring to my role as a Parent Governor. I am particularly passionate about fostering positive relationships between children, staff, parents and guardians. I believe in promoting a culture of transparency, trust, and mutual respect, and I want to help ensure Dothill Primary School remains a place where everyone feels welcome, heard, and safe. I am committed to working closely with the leadership team and fellow governors to support the school’s continued growth and to represent the views of parents in strategic discussions.
Ellie Cheetham-Wilkinson - Trust Governor
I’m Ellie, and I’m a Trust Governor here at Dothill. I have been part of the governing board for about 18 months now. Currently, I am the lead governor for SEND, Pupil Premium and English as an Additional Language. With 20 years' experience in teaching both in primary and secondary schools, as well as being an assistant head in a Special School, I feel passionately about the welfare of disadvantaged children, and ensuring they get the education they deserve. I work currently as a Curate at All Saints church here in Wellington, so community and wellbeing are also something I am passionate about, as well as strengthening the relationship between the church and the school. Here at All Saints, we have a great relationship with Dothill school and have loved having the children come to visit us for Harvest and Easter experience days as well at their Christmas singing event. We also come in for ‘open the Book’ assemblies and our youth worker regularly visits the children at lunchtime. It is a privilege to be able to support the school and the local community, as we seek to help grow happy, secure and well-nurtured young people.
Jenny Thomas - Headteacher
As the Headteacher of Dothill Primary School, I am proud to serve as a member of the Governing Body. I bring with my experience in education a deep commitment to nurturing a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive. My role as Headteacher governor allows me to work closely with fellow governors to shape the strategic direction of our school, ensuring that our vision and values are at the heart of everything we do. I am passionate about high-quality teaching and learning, staff development, and fostering strong partnerships with our families and wider community. I believe that every child has the opportunity to succeed, and I am delighted to be leading our school with integrity, compassion and ambition. Together with our talented staff and supportive governors, I strive to make Dothill a place where children are happy, confident, and well-prepared for their futures.
