Y6 Homework

Reading

Children are asked to read at home with an adult at least four times each week and parents are asked to write a signature with the dates in the Reading Record each week to confirm their child has read at least four times.

Spelling

Children are asked to practise their spellings twice per week and have this signed by an adult with dates to confirm the practise. There are a range of different ways the children can practise their spellings - it does not have to be just copying them out in their spelling books! Please see below for a list of suggested spelling activities and a link to the spelling list - although the children will have a copy stuck in their spelling books at the start of every unit, as well.

Please find below the links for the weekly spellings for each half-term for children to practice at home.

Maths

Children are asked to rehearse the times tables weekly using times tables rock stars. This includes 15 minutes practice in the Garage and 2 minutes in the Studio each week during term time as a minimum. The best way to complete this is 'little and often' throughout the week.

Topic Project

We are not setting a project homework this half term - instead we will be sending home reading, SPAG and maths revision sheets each week. Please encourage your child to complete these and return them. We will then be able to offer more support if there are any areas they are still finding challenging.
